Bigg are proud to be sponsoring Bristol based professional race driver, Dino Zamparelli for this seasons Porsche Carrera Cup of Great Britain.
Dino Zamparelli was born on the 5th October 1992, at Bristol’s own St Michaels Hill hospital. Dino is half English, but his Italian origins have gifted him a textbook racing driver’s name!
You don’t need to look far to work out why Dino is so good at racing - his father Mike is a former F1 Powerboat racer. Mike’s encouragement ensured Dino began flying around in a Go-Kart at an early age. It didn’t take long for a love of speed to develop, as he explains:
“I was about 6 years old, and I had this little red Go-Kart where I lived, it was quite quick for a 6 year old! I loved speed, and anything with four wheels and an engine, from that moment onwards!”
The Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain is made up of identical 460 hp 911 GT3 Cup cars. This means that the difference between victory and defeat is all depending on driver performance and team preparation.
Dino and his team will be tested on their ability to work together to set the car up for the circuit, the weather conditions and to perfect their weekend strategy. They’ll be needing to extract maximum performance from the car by finely tuning all adjustable elements of the 911, such as aerodynamics, tyre pressure and geometry.
The first race of the season was the weekend of the 1-3rd of April at Brand Hatch in Kent. Keep up with the full race schedule here.
After 4 rounds Dino Zamparelli stands at 2nd place in the championship with a huge 77 points. You can keep up with Dino’s progress through his newsletter.
